I love you like crazy Valentine {Printable}

HI! My name is Lara, and I am the writer of a fun, creative blog called Less Cake {more frosting}. It’s not all about frosting. It’s more about things I LOVE…and frosting just happens to be at the very top of that list!

I also love being creative, while drinking Diet Coke, eating treats, and humming Disney Songs and show tunes. Sound fun? It is, usually!

I’m so grateful to be spending a bit of time on Skip To My Lou today. I absolutely adore Cindy. She is truly one of the kindest, most genuine, and fabulous bloggers I’ve ever met! Plus she’s a rockstar. But she’d never say that.

My kids and I have pretty set bedtime routines. Like they brush teeth, say prayers, I get them a glass of water WITH ice. They pick their “music” or “stories”. And then I kiss them goodnight. I tell my son, “I love you” and he says, “I love you more.” Sometimes it goes on to “I love you mostest.”

One night when I was putting my daughter, who was about 2 at the time, to bed, I said, “I love you like crazy.” And she said, “I love you too my crazy.” I guess she got the “like” part confused or something? Who knows. But rather than being offended that she pretty much called me crazy…I was like, “that’s pretty much the awesomest and most accurate bedtime greeting of ALL TIME!”

Because, let’s be honest, I am a little CRAZY! And as long as I’m HER “crazy”….all is right with the world.

When I started thinking about a printable Valentine to offer this year, our little routine popped into my head. I LOVE to tell my true Valentines that their love makes me CRAZY! (okay, I’m kinda crazy anyway….but still….)

This printable comes with four different color schemes all on one sheet. (and can I just mention that the colors are kinda CRAZY? So appropriate!)

I paired my valentines with a darling little glassine bag full of treats. And a topper of bakery twine. It literally took me 5 minutes. And there’s NOTHING crazy about that!

Click on the arrow with a line under it…in the above window. Just press it, and the image file should download right to your computer! Easy Peezy!

You can then print the file anywhere you’d like. This file is sized at 8.5×11. It will not print optimally at a bigger size. (But you can print it at a smaller size if you’d like.)

I’m excited to give out these little treats to people I’m “crazy” about! Because I’m pretty aware that my brand of crazy, brings awesome treats. Crazy and sugar often go hand in hand.

If you love mixing a little bit of crazy in with your good times….come visit me over at Less Cake {more frosting} anytime!

Sticky note Valentines

Hi, I’m Amy from the amy is the party blog. I am honored that Cindy invited me to be a part of this special guest blogging series for Valentine’s.

I have designed a special downloadable Valentine project that I think would be a perfect little Valentine for teachers, schoolmates, friends, or co-workers. All you need are some standard 3″x3″ sticky note pads (post-its) and some stick on Velcro.

1. Start by downloading the PDF:
https://www.sweet-n-saltyshop.com/pdf/stickynotepattern.pdf. Print it out on 8 1/2 x 11″ cardstock.

2. Cut out both rectangles. Then fold each along the dotted lines (fold in, towards the un-printed side of the paper).

3. Slip a sticky note pad inside, so that the cardstock wraps around like a matchbook. The illustration should be on the front.

4. Now place the Velcro on the back-side of the cover, as pictured.

5. Lastly, fill in the “To” and “From” lines and give to your Valentine.

I hope you enjoy my free download. Have a happy Valentine’s!

Love Bingo Printable

One of my favorite memories of school, is a Valentine’s party my mother led in my classroom around 2nd grade. Way back before computers, my mother agonized over making Conversation Heart Bingo cards for the class- using only the colors of the cards. From what I remember- they were awesome. Its that memory that has inspired this wonderful set. Rather than using the colors of hearts, this set uses the numerous phrases found on Brach’s Classic Conversation hearts. (Yes, I bought a bag, and looked at every single candy until I had a list of all of the phrases. ;D ) So, all you have to do is pull candies out of the bag to play! This free printable include 10 unique cards, each with a free space in the middle. They print 2 on a page and are perfect for classrooms and parties! (Maybe even adults too!)Download the printable here.

i-melt-for-you DIY

Hi, it’s Amy here, from amyistheparty.com. I love all things party related – baked goods, decorations, and even themed gifts. I remember one year my mom made me this awesome ice cream soda with gum drops (much like the one pictured above). I proudly displayed it on a shelf in my room, until the gum drops got stale and my mom made me throw it away. It’s an adorable and inexpensive Valentine that is guaranteed to impress!

Supplies:

  • gum drops
  • toothpicks
  • styrofoam ball
  • ice cream float glass
  • straws

I started by wrapping my styrofoam ball in a little bit of plastic wrap, so as too keep the gumdrops edible. I filled the bottom of my ice cream float glass with gumdrops. If you don’t have an extra float glass on hand, you can find them pretty easily. I got mine at a local thrift store.

Place the styrofoam ball into the top of the glass. Now cover the top of the ball with gumdrops! I cut my toothpicks in half with scissors, then inserted the halves into the gumdrops. Now stick the other end of each toothpick into the styrofoam.

i-melt-for-you DIY

I cut my straws to different lengths and stuck them into the styrofoam, between some gum drops. I used striped paper straws but bendy straws would be cute too.

Now download the ice cream tags I designed for you. Print them on cardstock and cut out your favorites.

i-melt-for-you DIY

Use a regular hole punch to make holes in the tops of the tags. Tie one onto your float glass using a bit of ribbon or baker’s twine.

i-melt-for-you DIY

Make one for your teacher, your friends, your sweetheart, your child…and don’t forget…yourself!

Would you believe you can create your own custom stamp from supplies found at Lowe’s? This is a great kids activity.  We used these simple supplies to create some Valentine’s Day Cards.
homemade custom stamps

Grab some scraps of wood. We used 3 inch squares of MDF. You will also need some kitchen and bath sealant or caulk.

DIY custom stamp supplies

Use a pencil to make an outline of your design to use as a guide.

DIY block print tutorial

Place sealant along the pencil drawing. If there are raised areas where you started and stopped, a finger dipped in water can gently pat them down.

DIY Block Print how to

Allow sealant to completely dry. Read package for complete details. Once dry paint a little paint on the dried sealant and stamp onto paper.

home made stamps

Or you can use an ink pad for stamping your design.

How easy was that! So next time your are at Lowe’s you can pick up your crafting supplies! We do!
